Oh the weather outside is frightful…

CINCINNATI, OH– I woke up this morning at 5:30 local time, which is 2:30 back in California. It’s an hour to which I’m accustomed to being up, thanks to my children, but still not my favorite time of the day.

I got dressed, made some coffee, and opened the curtains. I blinked.

IT’S SNOWING.

What in the world is going on? Snow? In the middle of March?

Granted, I was in snow two weeks ago, but that was TAHOE, FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE!

And me without my snow pants.

  1. Welcome to my life. Last year, I had the same response when it began snowing in *May*. I recently had a chat with my wife about returning to California, and she ruled out the Bay Area. Cold and rainy, she said. I told her to look outside.

  2. I’ve always heard that the weather in Buffalo was terrible. But STILL– why do people put up with it?

And the Bay Area is cold and rainy for a few months, but your basic point– look outside– is right on. And in an era of global warming, a place that’s a LITTLE cold and rainy isn’t the worst thing.
