Since reading Daniel Gilbert’s Stumbling on Happiness, I’ve been interested in– though probably no better at correcting– attentional blindness. This video nicely demonstrates how, in the course of focusing on one thing, we fail to notice others:

  1. Wow, that was impressive. I love these kind of demos that show us how our brain works. I even had to watch the second half twice to notice when they changed the deck of cards, as I had concentrated on the surroundings this time.

  2. would have been better if the camera stayed on him the whole time but its obvious he can change the deck when the camera isnt on him. which means he wouldnt be able to do this with a crowd of people
