This morning my wife decreed the work we’d done on the bathroom yesterday had to come down. After a lot of time reading about tiling, she concluded that we needed a vapor barrier and cement board around the bath, instead of a layer of greenboard and cement board.
So, this morning it was back to Home Depot to buy more stuff: sheets of Durock, masonry blades for the jigsaw, etc..
The vapor barrier went up without too much trouble, since it’s basically just plastic sheeting. The rest of the day was spent dealing with the Durock.
We got the concrete backerboard all up, except for the piece that needs holes for the shower fixtures.
Tomorrow and Tuesday we’ll do the greenboard around the rest of the bathroom, and have that all inspected on Wednesday.
