Some possible answers:

  • It's simply irrelevant: it's like asking, "If a forecast were a flavor of yogurt, would a picky child like it?" or "Does it weigh more than a duck?"
  • Our current tools provide as great a level of accuracy as is humanly possible, and attempts to refine those tools are destined to fail.
  • Decision-makers wouldn't perform any better with more accurate forecasts. Companies and politicians are hard-pressed to act when a sure thing is staring them in the face.
